Hensley Playbook™ began with a friendship. Jennifer and Simone met as college best friends and stayed connected through careers centered on helping children and families. Over time, they saw how often parents felt stuck between uncertainty and long waitlists.
They created Hensley Playbook™ to make evaluations easier to access and easier to understand. With Jennifer’s clinical background and Simone’s experience supporting families through education systems, the practice is built on clear communication, steady guidance, and respect for each child’s individuality.

Dr. Jennifer L. Hensley

Co-Founder & CEO, Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Jennifer Hensley is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner holding dual board certifications from the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board in primary care pediatrics (CPNP-PC) and pediatric mental health (PMHS).
With over 24 years of experience, including more than a decade working with children with developmental differences, she has supported over 24,000 children with autism and related concerns.
She leads Hensley Playbook™ as a practice providing virtual autism evaluations and guidance within pediatric medical and behavioral health care. She has led research on autism care for military families, served as faculty at the Uniformed Services University, and contributed as a chapter author to pediatric publications.
Families often describe her care as thoughtful, clear, and compassionate. A proud mom of three from a military family, her work is guided by her faith and a deep commitment to service.
Simone M. Olson, M.A.

Co-Founder & COO
Simone Olson recently retired from the U.S. Department of Education, where she spent many years in program and stakeholder management, including leading a national recognition program and supporting access to vital educational resources. At Hensley Playbook™ she serves as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the operations that make every step of the evaluation organized, structured, and easy for parents to follow. As the Hensley Playbook™ Navigator, she provides non-medical guidance and support for families, working alongside her lifelong friend, Dr. Jennifer Hensley.
