Why we chose a private-pay model.

Hensley Playbook™ does not participate with insurance networks. That decision lets us deliver the kind of evaluation, communication, and follow-through that families actually need, without third-party restrictions getting in the way.

We do offer payment via CareCredit, as well as  FSA and HFA.

Meet your Hensley Playbook™ Navigator.

Membership includes a monthly Group Navigator session and bounded, non-urgent Navigator messaging between visits, so you can ask questions and get help building your child’s local support team and working through complex early childhood systems. Led by Simone Olson, your Navigator offers educational coaching, peer support, and a steady hand as you move from questions to a clear plan. The Membership is coming soon.

Navigators are not licensed medical providers and do not give medical advice, diagnoses, or therapy. This is non-clinical, educational support, and it does not create a clinician-client relationship. Clinical decisions stay with Dr. Hensley and your own licensed professionals.

Monthly Group Navigator session

A non-medical group session of 30 to 45 minutes for 5 to 10 families, with teaching and live Q&A on topics like early intervention, therapy types, and what to do after a diagnosis.

Support between visits

Non-urgent messaging with your Navigator for clarification of recommendations, school and therapy navigation, and resource guidance, answered within 2 to 3 business days.

Navigate the systems

Step-by-step guidance through Early Intervention (Part C) and school district IEP and IFSP timelines, so the logistics feel manageable.

Build your child's team

Map out the professionals your child may need, such as speech, OT, and ABA, and learn how to interview providers and manage waitlists.

Next Steps Strategy Session.

The Hensley Playbook™ Next Steps Strategy Session is a short, targeted problem-solving visit focused on one concern at a time, not ongoing care. It is designed for previously diagnosed children, whether the diagnosis came from us or from another practice, when you are unsure what to do next. All levels of autism are welcome, Levels 1, 2, and 3, and we develop a treatment plan for 100% of the children we see. Parents complete a short intake packet before the session, and a prior diagnostic report is highly recommended so we can make the most of your time.

Reserving your date

After booking your evaluation, call our office within 24 hours to secure your date. A $500 non-refundable retainer is required within 24 hours of booking and is applied toward your total fee.

Final payment

Full payment is due 48 hours prior to your scheduled evaluation. Follow-up consultations require full payment within 48 hours of booking.

Good Faith Estimate

A Good Faith Estimate of expected charges is available upon request in accordance with federal guidelines.

If you would like to talk first, the Hensley Playbook™ First Steps Call, available in Florida and Virginia, is a 30-minute, parent-only audio visit to discuss your concerns and decide on the right starting point. After booking an evaluation, call the office within 24 hours to secure your slot.
Hensley Playbook™ does not accept insurance or Medicaid. Operating as a private-pay practice allows us to offer extended appointments, comprehensive evaluations, and personalized guidance without insurance-driven restrictions on time or scope.
We provide a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement amounts depend on your individual policy and benefits, and are not guaranteed.
